Nice... you want to add a few more holes and bolts if your putting any stress on it. Backing plate most likely as well.

That is a great option if you only have space for a 3/4 inch wide track. I'm going to bookmark that item. The bolts and nuts are probably zinc plated though but still a cheap option. Maybe just buy the track and add your own SS T bolts etc.

This was discussed a few years back.  One problem is how narrow it is.  With a good sized salmon hitting a rod that is on an extended mount (like a majority use while trolling), you are putting a lot of stress on a narrow track.  Even with a backing plate.  If it is just for mounting a fish finder or other electronics, it should be fine.

you have a good point there craig, and though it migh be a bit bulky, they do have wider versions,( double track) personaly, I can still hear my dad in the back of my head every time i pick up a pole "Boy, if your hooks in the water, the pole is in your hand",  so for me it would be for ff, gopro and whatever other accessories i can think of.

Flags, a rocket tube for an inactive rod, bait boards would also be fine. Pretty much the stuff you might mount to the rear.
