INSAYN,

Thanks for posting the link. I used to have that show tivo'd, but it accidentally got deleted. This show was what got me so interested in ocean kayak fishing.

Same for me GD.  I saw this and wanted to give it a try.  Wonder if OPB knows what they started.  It began as alot of fun and has gotten even better.  This forum has helped too.  Next thing you know there'll be kayaks all over the place.  That's ok cause one will be mine spoting a NWKA sticker - Alan

me too... saw the show, thought, you know they might be on to something, did some research on yaks and was on the water that summer.  Sold my ocean boat and now am a dedicated ocean kayak fisher.. They are dead on about how its better then off a traditional power boat.  I have had more fun off the yak than I ever did out of a 30 footer, I do miss the bathroom though ::)

Wonder if OPB would be interested in doing a follow up to that story and be down to PC to cover the 2009 Derby?   :o

If they did, it would be the best, and most through video coverage of any kayak fishing tournament  ever. I just saw the Oregon Field Guide 20th anniversary special last night, and you wouldn't believe what they go through to get a story. Some of the best people in the business!

Or any follow-up story even.  I'll ask them.  I was in contact with them for a long time trying to get them to post that video up and they finally did.   ::)

A follow up story would be good for the sport and NWKA.  Invite them along on a couple of trips and get everyone involved.  Why not have some fun.

My first kayak trip on the ocean I fished with Chad, Jill and a friend of mine who lived across the street from them in Corvallis.  Really nice people and man oh man can they catch some fish.  Chad out fished us everytime we went.  I bet they would join in on a trip if they were invited.  We have all since finished school but I believe I could still get a hold of Them.

Gatorbait,

If you can get a hold of them you should at least invite them to join NWKA.  It would be good to get more seasoned veterans around here and they might enjoy seeing how the sport is finally starting to take off here in the PNW.

Brian,

This is a little strange, here we are talking about them and I get a forward from my buddy who lived across the street from Chad with two big, bright Chinooks he caught the last two nights.  So, getting a hold of him will be pretty easy, I'll let them know about the site.
