Hahaha. Yes I'm also interested. PM me your favorite spots and what you use there. But seriously I just follow Spot and Rawkfish around. One of the best things about my best spots is the fact that not many people know about them.

I will read between the lines here and assume the OP meant launching locations. :)  If you are in Oregon, and are new to the sport, Depoe Bay is great due to no surf to launch through, good fish cleaning amenities, and a decent bathroom.  However, learn the local rules, such as do not fish in the channel that runs from the harbor mouth out to the bell buoy and about 100 yards to each side.  Pacific City (PC) is great too, but be prepared for surf launches and landings. It is a beach launch and depending on what time of year, you may need a vehicle with good ground clearance. If you are meeting someone there and neither of you are pulling a trailer, park one behind the other to take up less room because lots of dories launch out of there, they are nice folks that are willing to help a person in need, and it is the least douchey thing to do (this goes for Depoe Bay too if you are parking in a trailer spot. PC is also a good spot to chase salmon in the late summer.  If you are further south, Sunset Bay is good.  These are well known spots and have decent fishing not too far from shore.  As for those other locales, you will have to sniff them out yourself.

I fished there once.  Nice sandy bottom.  No fish though.  😂

A large variety of crustaceans, though.

The fun & adventure is in the journey of finding areas on your own that may not have been pressured & could possibly hold larger fish. I have found I fish better when i create my own reports & avoid chasing others. Choosing one of the safer launch spots, as provided by Craig, the sky becomes the limit out there.

danr, if you haven't been out in saltwater, find an experienced kayaker who'll let you tag along.  Once you get an idea of what kind of bottom structure and hiding places the fish prefer, you won't need to ask - and you'll be a lot safer.

The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

What might be fun is to require the AOTY photos be geotagged with coordinates from the catch location in order to verify points.  I always wonder where those enormous fish come from.... "the water"!  Most of those locations I could never get to nor would I have the skills to make a similar catch, but it would be fun to know.

I had one very boastful friend send me an iPhone photo of himself with an enormous inshore halibut which he said the location was top secret "I'd have to kill you"... I told him that's ok you forgot to turn off location services, I know where you are.

Well if you want to fish PC or Tillamook Bay with a smart ass let me know or keep your peepers peeled for an invite. I live in Garibaldi and I'm forceably retired.
