Open Invite Hagg Lake 2/25

My kayak has been dry for far too long, and frankly I am tired of steelhead fishing without so much as a solid takedown! With ODFW planting 18,000 fish this week the "catching" should be pretty good, sure the little pellet heads don't make for great table fare, or even much of a fight, but the tug is a drug and I am feeling needy! I plan on hitting the water around 6:30-7:00 @ boat ramp "C." Will likely do some trout fishing as well as a little Bass fishing near the dam too.

Would love to fish with any others!

I wish I could... unfortunately I've got an important meeting at work or I would blow it off. Let me know how it goes if you go tomorrow. The stocking schedule had them planting next week, but the recreation updates said they did it this week so it shouldn't be quite as busy.

Eagerly awaiting your report as I watch a power point presentation...

Well, not much to report.  It was cold and snowing then raining.  Not a single bite.  There was one other guy fishing from the bank on the whole lake (that I could see) and he had no luck either.  I was off the water by 1:30.  The water was brown with not much visibility.  Threre was a lot of small stuff (logs and other debris) floating in the lake.  Most of it was towards the middle though.  I tried looking in the coves north of boat ramp A for some cold water Crappie but I had no luck.  I then decided to try for some trout.  I tried trolling, jigging and power bait.  No luck.  If they put trout in there this week then they either didnt want what i had or they were where I wasnt.  most of the fish I was marking were all around a foot off the bottom except for at the dam.  There they were at 5 to 10 feet.  Oh well, at least I got out there...

Thanks for the report. I believe the 18,000 are actually being dumped this week,once that happens it should be busy out there.

That's what the schedule says as well. I think we were confused because the odfw recreation update said they were stocked this past week.

I will probably be braving the crowds on saturday. Most likely C ramp in the morning. I'll be in the grey WS ATAK and will wave if I see anyone!
