Hit American lake today, didn't get a bite.  I wasn't marking any fish either.

I did see a few guys in a PB and they had some luck at the north end of the lake.  All the fish they caught were in the top 5-10 foot of water.  They had one nice 2+ lb 18" Koke.  According to their info it is the magic 3rd year for American lake which means it should be good.  Next time I will need to head up north, I have been covering the area between North fort marina and Veterans Hospital.

Still no fish slime on my new outback, maybe next time.

I too just got a new hobie, and took it out once so far to lake Goodwin, very windy and no bites. I am sure the bites will come

I really like the 60ft - 40 foot area on the west side of the island close to the no wake buoys.  I don't know if you are fishing with two poles or not but it can be worth putting a rapala on one this time of year.  The occasional cutthroat can be a lot of fun.

I am in the midst of remodel season (runs in-between ducks and fish) and the list is still too long.  But I will be out there this spring for sure.  If you see a guy in a Wavewalk be sure and say hi.  Glad to hear we might have some big ones.  It is sure an awesome fishery when they are that size.
Fish on the right side that's where the fish are! John 21:6

I am no longer a dealer for Wavewalk but if you ever want to paddle one let me know!

The old-timers swear by that 3 year rule. It's not put out many fish the last few seasons, so hopefully there's something to that claim! That lake typically puts out nice fish too!

I typically run two rods out there. One on the downrigger between 15-40' depending on where schools show on the sonar. The other with only the flasher plus lure, so likely 5-8' or so. When the bite is on I get bit about 50/50 between them.
