Just surfing around and came upon this PDF. A gizzillion fly fishing books  and a few others listed. Good resource to look up books from:

Care to review any of those? ;D Thanks for the list.

I read that Fly Fishing runs about neck 'n neck with golf as the subject with the most books written about it.

Lots of great titles there, and i've read only a very few. I concentrate on NW authors, and my "yet to read" list is huge.

Now its even longer. :o

The all-time greatest fly fishing how-to book ever written is still the Curtis Creek Manifesto.  It, and a guide to the insect hatches/fly patterns on your river of choice, is all you ever need.

Another vote for the Manifesto. Actually I think this book is good for all fishermen. Really entertaining.

I just picked up a copy during the holidays and it looks pretty interesting and informative.  It looks like it has the basic knowledge I need to get started before waving the bug wand.

Thought I'd provide an Amazon associates link in case anyone wanted to buy the "Curtis Creek Manifesto".  Note that a small fraction of the proceeds will go towards NWKA.  ;D

Thanks for the list, lots of good material there.  Two of my all time favorites that I didn't see listed but find myself reaching for again and again:

The Complete Book of Fly Fishing by Tom McNally.  Kind of dated but lots of valuable info.  Great book for people just getting started in this wonderful sport.

The Longest Silence by Thomas McGuane.  An excellent collection of essays and probably one of my favorite all time reads.  Not a how to book but a collection of stories and observations on the pursuit of everything from trout to tarpon.  A "must read" for any fly fisherman.
