We will be having our Saturday May 20th event at Regatta Park off W. Devils Lake rd volunteers arriving at 0800 veterans arriving at 0900 and hopefully wrapping up around 1500. I spoke with Lt. Palmer with the Lincoln City police department and there excited to have us in town for this event and will be extending an invite through there ranks. He also has me in contact with the Doug Kerr the local fire marshal to hopefully get there water rescue team involved. I'm hoping to get one of the OSP Troopers I spoke with on my trip down to get our mission going to join us as he is already a seasoned kayak fisherman with ocean experience.

We had a great day on the water for our April event with one participants son not wanting to get out of bed...  ::) ..... so we started with 6 participants but had a passerby that served 20 years so I signed him up suited him and sent him out. No fish cooperation for the participants even with a beautiful necklace on the line so we all voted to hold it over till May 20th. Brad Mosher from Headlight Herald stopped in for a few pictures and a quick video. We had mostly light showers, barely noticeable wind, and one 3 minute monsoon. The highlight of this event was the famous guy that was there. See photo.

I would agree - a great day - but was a bit of a generous description of the conditions.  On the water, it felt more like mostly light monsoons with the occasional heavy monsoon.  You are right, though...  the wind was barely noticeable  ;).  And I must say the highlight was the fact that we had several vets staying out there through wet chilly conditions and non-cooperative fish!

Famous Guy??  What's he famous for, skunking?

Not sure about the famous thing, but Mojo must have been talking about our vets on the water.  From where I was, it wasn't a total skunk for the day.  Found this guy towards the end of our time on the water - wasn't much, but a quick photo and yank of the hook, and he was back swimming around...

BTW - Nice banner!

Since we didn't get any fish for the April event ,we will be looking to give away the hand carved bone necklace donated by our own surforegon similar to this one, at Devils Lake.

Coastal Chief and Mrs. Chief will be donating a spaghetti and garlic bread Feast for lunch. We're going to have 8 seats available. The hand carved bone necklace donated by our own surforegon Cannon Beach Artz will be up for grabs since we had no participant fish cooperation last event.
