Hi, my name is Dan, I have been sober for.....

Just kidding.
Purchased my first kayak today, Ocean Kayak Trident 4.3 ultra, and can't wait to see what all kinds of fish find their way to my deck.

I retired from the Army last year and love to fish! I have been on 5 different Heroes on the Water excursions including this past Saturday. Those trips must have a made a good impression, since I now have my own yak!

I live near Lebanon and I am hoping to gain enough experience in the next several months to enter this years Rockfish Classic.

Welcome Dan, and thank you for your service.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Thanks for your service, if you want some saltwater introduction in Tillamook Bay let me know your availability and I'll find a good tide weather window for some rockfish. Also the TBKD3 ( 3rd Annual Tillamook Bay Kayak Day) is June 10th with a big after part at the Old Mill RV Park. Also if your free this Friday we're drifting the Nehalem river.

Thank you! Unfortunately I am not available this friday. Already have a much bigger boat booked to go after rockfish out of Newport. If that falls thru I will probably start out easy on a pond that day and work up from there.

I am going to practice some roll over drills before I take it to any salt water.

Thanks, I would like to do that. What all do you fish for in the Nehalem? I have crabbed there before and I know they get a pretty decent Salmon run.
