It looks like I will probably get Tuesday off work. If the conditions are looking doable would anyone be interested in meeting at first daylight and taking a look at the water? As of now Magic seaweed is calling out less than 5' at 12 seconds. Might have to get on and off the water early before the wind pics up, but I'm willing to give it a go if it looks ok. If the conditions suck I'd do the usual and fish from rocks someplace else. The last two weekends I've managed to hook barely legal lings from the rocks. Fishing from the rocks is not easy, but better than a full blown no fishing kick in the sack...
FYI, although I've been fishing the ocean forever I've only fished from a kayak for just over a year. Sometimes I fish when others wouldn't. If you are less experienced than me you should probably fish with someone else. Don't get me wrong if you are prepared and competent I'm totally willing to fish with you, this is just meant to be a heads up.

Keep me updated, if forecast holds I might be there at 0600 to see if it's a go for a few hours.

Would you let me know what the conditions turn out to be?  The sites I use to check forecasts aren't agreeing with MSW and I'm trying to learn which forecasts to use to make plans.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I'll be on the beach at 6:00 if you want to take a look at it. If you are not going to make it I'll probably head towards the depo Bay Area. There could be better cover from the SE wind in closer down that way.

I'll let Casey give the fishing report. I just didn't feel right on the beach..... so I didn't launch. There were two dorys that launched so once Casey cleared the breakers I headed home, just got done unloading dry gear.

Like he said, Mojo wasn't feeling it. I was though so Mojo helped me get my kayak close to the surf and I headed out. It was pretty windy and coming out of the SE. The swells were small as predicted. The drift was pretty fast though. I managed to get a couple small blacks, and a nice sea trout before the wind started blowing hard enough that it was time to head in, 9:30 ish. Then I headed down to boiler bay where there is better cover from the SE wind. The normal spots in close that have produced in the past were not doing anything so since it didn't seem too windy down that way yet I paddled out to the fleet and caught a couple barley legal lings. The south wind picked up pretty good out there. The paddle back wasn't sketchy, but a little bumpy. It was a good time, and I was on the road home by 2:00.
