What's up with the blog section?  The button labeled "want your own blog" leads to an error.  Is setting a blog still an option?

Thanks!

It's a feature that Polepole is still working on.  There have been some bugs so it hasn't been completely turned on yet.

I'm waiting for a fix on the software.  I could go ahead and fix it, but I think there is an official fix coming out shortly, so would prefer to wait, rather than hack.  We'll have a blogging system up soon, one way or another.

I am not what you would call a computer savvy kind of person and I was wondering.....what exactly is a blog? And how is it different from a normal post?   ???

The word "blog" is short for "web log".. the "we" for some reason gets dropped.  Basically it's an online diary or personal log and because it's online for everyone to see the creators often allow for feedback via posted comments.  This differs slightly from the forum in that a forum post is a fairly even exchange with everyone commenting on a given topic. On a blog is more or less one person's point of view based on their posted blog articles and readers might make short comments.

I hope that helps.

It is similar but different.  A Blog is more of a personal space.  Only you can start topics there and others can comment on them.  Here at NWKA, the posting mechanism/interface will look exactly the same, but you wont see the blogs show up in the Forums section.  I kind of think of a forum as a community blog where everyone can start topics.
