I can't read it, what happened?
We may live without poetry, music, and art
We may live without conscience and live without heart
We may live without friends, we may live without books;
But civilized man cannot live without cooks

FLOATIN,
 The man was a local I have seen fishing on the river with his dog on the boat on several occassions. This time however he misjudged the power of the water flow from the chetco at this time of year and got too close to the mouth of the river and was swept out by the current, once beyond the protection of the jetty the waves from the ocean combined with the current capsized his boat throwing him into the mighty Pacific.
 All ended well as his dog had foreseen the disaster and bailed before capsizing, making it to the shore on his own (life vest was worn). The Coast Guardsman in the tower was watching the whole thing. A small craft advisory flag was flying at the station, the man on watch ordered a life boat and crew dispatched before the boater was in danger, they wree on it like stink on poop!
 After some struggling the man was assisted to shore by a swimming Guardsmen.
 Just a good reminder of the power of hydraulics at large roaming our planet.
 If I knew how I would highlght the SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY FLAG WAS FLYING.
 STAY SAFE!!

Yes we did, The wave hit the Brookings Harbor about 13 min after hitting C.C. However, it was only about 4"-6" at our location. A far cry from the 6' wave that tossed C.C. boats around and crashed docks! USGS says the reason is a very deep trough that funnels the wave power into the C.C. harbor, the resulting power funnel shoots right to the shallows of the harbor where it rises to form the larger than average wave.
