I went to Lake Cassidy last Saturday and did not got a single bite, but a lot of people there (what a surprise!). However, I was able to test out my new wheel design, trolling motor, steering and Stabilizer.
1. Wheel work well take the kayak to the water. When flip them up, they did not stay up. Cause: Pipe rotate, Fix: Design a new way to lock up the pipe.
2. Trolling motor work well. However, with the motor and battery in the back, 1/2" of water was in the back well. Cause: too much weight in the back. Fix: move the battery to front.
3. Steering work as design, not change is required.
4. Stabilizer create a lot of drag when traveling. Cause: stabilizers are too low to water. Fix: new design to move the stabilizer out of water when travel, and in water when fishing.

I am really liking your wheel design, it's similar to a boonedox landing gear system, I can see though that by sliding the wheels forward instead of back they could definitely get in the way of re-entering the kayak and also would also likely get in the way of trolling. Is the design done as such to allow them to swing back instead of forward or will they get in the way?

I get the idea of boonedox landing gear with a new twist. The gear suppose to set back less than 90 degree when not in used (75 to 80 degree) from the left (left = 0 degree, back of kayak), so it will not interfere with fishing or steering. The wheels were design to balance the weight of the front and back, so it feel balance when you pick to the front. I might switch the two pipes around, so that the wheel pipe is in the back and stabilizer pipe is in the front.
