I am lucky to have my Father's Day gift be a day of fishing and pacific city forecast is lookin decent. The only question mark is the wind. It was super low earlier in the week to super high and now back in the middle. Hoping it calms down more. If it does not calm down I am going to search for salmon or steelhead. Anyone else headed out there?

I too am watching the weather forecast for an ocean foray.  Sunday's looking like the better day at the moment.  If it holds, I'll likely head to Depoe Bay.  But if the forecast falls apart, I'll either head to the Siletz for steelhead/springers or fish Yaquina Bay for herring.  I got word last week that a lot of blue- to purple-label sized herring moved into the bay.

Thanks Craig! I was looking at Sunday and should have made it more clear in my post. Shad fishing sounds like a great backup plan. I have not done that in years.

If i make the drive to PC and it does not look doable I may drive over and join you clayman if you are interested in a fishing partner for herring or steelhead.

Hope this Sunday produces fish for me somewhere haha.

Wife Aproval Points : An accumulation of fictitious points a husband has to collect by doing favors, remembering what the wife says, staying out of trouble, and being a good husband in general, without enough points one does not ask to go fishing, one just hopes he's annoying enough to be ordered to go fishing to get out or said wife's hair.

That definition is awesome! Cracked me up. [emoji122]
Also, I'm going back to the bay for sure on Saturday, and am really working hard to get enough "W.A.P." to go out with you guys on Sunday if the conditions are okay. I'm pretty up in the air on if it would be PC or Depo for me though. It seems like the reports have been showing better fishing in depo so far this season, and I seem to suck at surf landings these past couple trips.

Sure thing man.  I'm thinking of doing a summer steel float on Saturday.  Hoping the rise in the rivers from this week's storm will bring in some new fish.  Of course, if Saturday is a success, I'll want to go Sunday as well!

The more and more I see the forecast the more I like Saturday. I may make the drive to depoe or pic on Saturday and will let you know by tomorrow. If I go on Saturday I have to be off the water by 11. If I go Sunday I can go alll day.

Edit- forecast updated and Sunday's winds are firing down. Yay!
