Does anyone know what kind of fish this is??

I can't tell if this is a steelhead trout or salmon. I know that sounds pretty ridiculous but I've never been in salt water fishing on the sound before.   I've looked up pictures and still can't quite tell. Any help on this would be great.

Sea-run coastal cutthroat trout.  The spotting and extra-large maxillary are key features.

Yes, a beauty sea-run cutty at that. The maxillary will extend past the eye and they may or may not have a prominent red slash under the jaw on both side. They are a great catch on light weight fly gear. We fish them around the estuaries here on Vancouver Island with 3 and 4 weight fly rods. Congrats on your catch
