Well my hopes for the N wind to chill out for this weekend are being dashed with the most recent forecasts.  Swell should still be very small, but the threat of wind waves makes me nervous for adventuring from an untried surf launch site.  Oh well, it's still fun to dream  :).

At this time it's looking like I'll either do Depoe Bay or Fogarty Creek.  I think it could still be fun to trooch a big herring along the edges of the Government Point reef.  Decent chance of coming across rips/trash lines out there too, which could make coho a potential target.

Fogarty is a pretty easy launch.  What time you looking at?

Probably reach the Fogarty parking lot around 0600.  Sunday is still looking like the better day, but of course plans may change according to the weather forecast.  I'll keep you posted.  Would be cool to fish with you again!

Nice.  Don't forget your wheels!  Definitely want wheels for this launch.

It would be really cool to put in at Fogarty and pull out in depo to avoid paddling back into the north wind.

That would be cool, but it'd take some logistics and coordination.  Unfortunately, I tend to be one of those anglers who's the last one off the water.  Always looking to maximize my water time  8).

The Government Point reef is readily available off Fogarty, and it provides a ton of rocky habitat to explore.  Everything from 30 to over 100 foot deep reef structure is at your fingertips out there, so probably not much need to move beyond it.

Clayman,  have you thought about PC for Sunday?
Winds are supposed to be better up north.

Aborting the ocean this weekend, just too much damn wind.  Got into some nice sea-run cutthroat this morning, so I'll continue chasing those until the ocean lays down  :).
