Willy Bassing tomorrwow (Sunday 10/26)

Was thinking of launching from George Rogers Park (open) tomorrow AM and fishing for 3 or 4 hours. Not too early, probably arournd 8AM.
First time launching from the area, so any tips are welcome and appreciated.

fish the shoreline on the LO side upriver from the park.  Small diving plugs in chartruse should work, I have had good luck with the bomber model A in chart and green tiger stripe.  Crayfish patterns should work also.  water temp is in the mid 50's as of today.  Also the rock point/island below the point should hold fish and the docks down river on the LO side near the restaurant hold panfish (or did this spring)...  Good luck

Thanks, I just bought some cranks that you mentioned (crawfish patttern) tonight.

First, if anyone is planning on launching from this park that ramp is locked. At least this Sunday it was.
So, I was motivated and threw the yak on my shoulder and marched down the hill.
Fished the rock island just to the north, then went up river for a mile or two, then across and back down river on the other side. Used a shallow diving (6') crank in crawfish and a Power Craw worm. Fished towards shore, away from shore and in mostly rocky areas. Even though I caught one dinky smolt, only twice the size of my crank bait, I still will call it a 'skunk.'
Areas seemed like they would be productive, but not for me. Must be a pattern, but no other basser's, just sturgeon fisherman.
Beautiful day on the water though!
The walk back up the hill was not as fun and reminded me that I need to get my fat butt back in shape. :walk
