Welcome to (participating on) the board.  I'm nowhere near your neck of the woods, but I'm sure we have more than a few members nearby.  Let us know about your adventures!  And post pictures!
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Welcome to the site. We're in Tigard as well, my son and I hit the Tualatin every so often too.

Welcome!! I am also in Tigard (seems like a number of us here are.) The Tualatin is a fun snaggy place where you never know what you may catch!

Drove by there a few weekends ago and it looked pretty nice, haven't actually used it for launching yet.

Last time I went by was probably 6-8 weeks ago and it was still not open.

We should organize a group exploration. I've never been on this part of the river.

I got a buddy who claims to know that part of the river, using his canoe. That's close enough to accept him as a provisional tribesman. I'll see if he'd down for a little guiding and post a meetup if I can make it happen. I think we could pull it off one weekday evening.

Sounds good to me. I have put in at cook park and taken out at stafford rd twice. I put in at hazelbrook 99w brige and went up stream and caught 4 12in bass. I was wishing there was a put in in the wildlife refuge.  Rees

On paper, there is a takeout where Roy Rogers crosses, but for the life of me I can't figure where. Same thing for Scholls Ferry Rd. in downtown Scholls.

There was a boy scout eagle project just upriver from downtown Scholls, around behind Groner School, looks to be in someone's back yard with maybe an easement for access. I don't know if it is maintained at all.

The river is so narrow and snaggy anyway, and every year a new crop of down trees. It could well be blocked any number of places. Very fishy but also great opportunities for a hooked fish to wrap you up. I think I would stick to top water all the way to minimize gear and fish loss.

Living in the area I go past all of these regularly and have never seen a boat on the river above 99w. I'd like to change that and if the paddle launch being new is nice, even if you can't get far up/down river that's a great place to lie in wait for a Coho when the time comes.

Continuing the hijack....

Went over to the new launch on River Rd.

They have a nice new circular parking lot, picnic tables, and a map of the Tualatin River. They put a vault toilet building.

Where they failed is there is no way you could trailer your boat(s). Car topping only. Major oversight.

Then the water is about a 20-25' drop from the lot, this time of year. So there's a path from the lot, but it is pretty steep, with only one switchback. And it isn't paved, it's crushed rock. So not a fun pull back up the ramp.

I think that will all be washed away by December. You'll want sand balloon wheelies to make a dart work. At the bottom, there's just an otterslide into the mud.

To me, major fail. Very disappointed. It's basically a new parking loop and an unimproved/primitive launch. I hoped for something like the concrete path under the 99W bridge.
