I'm curious about this kayak as an alternative to Hobie. Apparently it's about 55 lbs.

I have looked at it a few times, well the Native version of it http://nativewatercraft.com/product/slayer-propel-12-lt/  A youtuber I follow has one and seems to like it a lot. He is a fair bit smaller than me though! All in all looks like a nice kayak, lightweight, but I can't stomach the price point on them new.

Very different boats, Matt.  Hurricane kayaks are made of thermoformed ABS and a lot lighter.

Kyle, you might search around in NCKA for information.  Hurricane and Eddyline kayaks have a large and enthusiastic following in that forum.

If I were back in the market for a pedal drive, this one would interest me.

They are about as close as you can get. The LT has a few more fishing specific features but otherwise the drive and mold is the same.

Sorry about that Matt.  The pictures Google showed me were of a roto-molded Native Slayer, not this one.  My error - but Google is still evil.

No apology necessary! It was on NCKA where I first read about both of these models (and how close they are) So you're definitely dead on about the following there.

Kyle, you'll let us know your impressions of it, I hope.

(Thank you, Matt. That was most gracious of you.)

Since it was mentioned, Gig Habor Water Sports has a Native Watercraft Slayer 12 LT Propel Fishing Kayak - $2199.  It's not a demo per se but I was told I could launch and exit from the dock this weekend if I can get away.  I'll give a report if I'm able to give it a run.
