Hi all,

I've been a kayak fisherman for 3-4 years now, fisherman for life.  I'm active on the NCKA forum if anyone is familiar with that forum.  I started with a Jackson big tuna, now I have a Hobie Tandem Island.  I love sailing and so combining the two was a no brainer for me.  I fish anywhere along the central coast of California.  I spend the most time fishing for kings in the summer time either in the Monterey Bay or around the Golden Gate area.   I like to go up north in July/August to find more salmon, so far I've spent a week in Sekiu, WA for the past 2 summers.

I want to expand my summer salmon adventures and go further north.  I was just up in Vancouver Island for a wedding and I learned the salmon can get massive up there.  Does anyone have any suggestions for the best time of the year and where?  Like Sekiu, I enjoy camping right on the water with my kayak moored up to a pier, ready to go every morning. :-)  I'd like to spend 7-10 days.

Thanks for any input, and hopefully I'll get to meet some fellow kayakers

David
