Hey there folks. I’ve been a longtime, but very, VERY sporadic fisherman ... though I've been getting interested in salmon fishing the last couple of years, and just bought myself a Revo 13 from Next Adventure a few weeks ago.

I’m in NE Portland and have been out chasing springers on the Willamette a handful of times so far. Also looking forward to going for rockfish on the coast, and other piscatorial pursuits as opportunities arise.

Welcome.  That's a great boat.  I've considered one myself several times. :)
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

Ha, getting to Tillamook by 6:00 from PDX would be an oh crap o’clock wake up. I’m already booked this Sunday, but look forward to getting the boat in saltier water.

I’m forcibly retired so days that end in Y and wind is low are fishing days for me ( pending family obligations)
So look for days that have a low tide between 0730 and 1130, with light winds predicted 15mph >, and you can fish..... then hit me up. Or keeper your peepers on the invites, I don’t fish solo.

Hey DPL, I’m in NE Portland as well, so I’ll certainly be into a later launch at the coast this summer. The 2-3 hr drive to some coast spots makes meeting others for an early morning launch.....less attractive. I’ll also probably take a day or two off springer pretending to catch walleye at the dalles in the next week or two, if you’re into that.

LOL, I keep beating my head against the springer wall, Nomas. Was out for about four hours yesterday ... for what ended up being not much more than a nice paddle around the Hawthorne Bridge area, though I did get to sort out some fine tangles. ;-) I'll probably try again Thursday afternoon if the river's in shape. I keep going downtown just because it's closer to my house, but maybe I should try Sellwood...

I haven't gotten the bug for the warm water species yet, though.
