Anybody game for a little river drifting?

I need to work out the kinks in my new drift anchor set-up.  Looks like favorable conditions shaping up for this Sunday.  Anybody want to hook up for a drift down one of the Northern Oregon Coastal Rivers?  Of course we'd be dropping anchor along the way for some Chinook and early Steel fishing.

I need to work on that as well.  I'm hoping to upgrade my drift anchor system soon, but I wouldn't mind testing my current version.  I also have visions of sturgeon fishing one of these days.  I'll have to check my schedule with the domestic boss.

I also have visions of sturgeon fishing soon.

That'll be next week Mon and/or Tues and/or Wed.  If the rivers have cleared out, there are some Willamette holes I'd like to try.

Hmm, I might be able to afford a day off given that I'm going no where for Thanksgiving this year.   Remember that retention for sturgeon is Thursday - Sunday, but if you don't plan on eating toxic willy sturgeon then it is still open for CnR the rest of the week with smaller crowds.  Not sure what that means for potential AOTY points, I'm guessing that a Monday sturgeon isn't going to count as I believe the current AOTY rule of thumb is "if you can legally take it home you can count it towards points".

No points, but lots of fun!  Anyway, I can doctor the photo data and say I caught it on Sunday.   ;)

I can do wednesday if you don't mind waiting till 9:30 or 10:00AM.  You up for a shuttled drift on your local water?

I'm out for Sunday anyway... right before I was about to ask my wife about it she came up with.. oh I signed up for a yoga class with my friend at 10 am on Sundays.   A day off next week might be better for me.

The correct response would have been "oh I sighed up for a fishing class with my friends every Saturday".

Maybe a Clackamas drift next week mid-day?

Any other takers for Sunday?

I'd love to but I'll be out of town this weekend. What about following T-day?

Tuesday?

It's a definite possiblity.  My only limitation next week is that I have to get my kids to school in the morning.
Do you have a way to anchor dead center?

Actually...........I meant after Turkey day as I won't be able to paddle until then. If you mean anchoring dead center amidships, no problem. Dead center fore or aft might take a bit of work.

OK, so here's my schedule of available fishing days for the next week:

Sunday 11/23 Dawn till Dark
Monday 11/24 (8:00AM + travel time) to (5:30PM - travel time)
Tuesday 11/25 (8:00AM + travel time) to (5:30PM - travel time)
Wednesday 11/26 (8:00AM + travel time) to (5:30PM - travel time)

Possible Sunday Drifts:
Lower Wilson
Nestucca
Necanicum
Trask
Clackamas

Jay, Fore or Aft.  I'm looking to fish some moving water and as I understand, it gets sketchy quick if your anchor line pulls you sideways to the flow.
