I've got a piece of noodle on mine as well. I just realized I haven't tested it out though. I bought a huge net at the local habitat store for $5 recently and and will probably put a noodle on that as well, though I'm wondering now if it isn't just too big for use from a kayak...

My medium sized net that comes along on most bottom fishing trips has a pool noodle on the handle. It does work as this spring it went over while I was dealing with putting a fish in the kill bag. It floated off about 20 feet before I was done and went to retrieve it. The only thing I have leashed is the paddle. Would be pretty screwed if that float off.

Pool noodle. All my nets are capped and float but just in case it's there.

Never!  Dream big!

Thank you, Sarge.  I'm going to split this between pool noodles and let it swim since it headed down river without you...

Okay, the trend is for pool noodles, and the score now stands at

Too true, too true - and exactly why I'm leaning towards INSAYN's suggestion even if pool noodles are in the lead right now.  In addition to all the other advantages INSAYN mentions, it would sure relieve the frustration I feel from all of my days of fishing.

There is always the lip gripper option.  Even salmon can be lip gripped.

Aw, come on!  You pretty much had me agreeing that I should get rid of all my rods and reels and just go paddling around, and now you want to me to consider a different solution?  I lipped a salmon last year and it took most of the day for my thumb to stop hemorrhaging.  Nonetheless...

Good lord!  Do I want pool noodles for lip grips, or another leash?   >:D

You get YOUR lip pierced then hook the already attached lanyard to your new “hip” lip ring, then go bobbing for rock fish and salmonoids  >:D

Thank you, Craig.  I could get them to match my kayak, or my dry suit, or my hair, huh?  Do they come in silver?
