Bsteves...  Any hint on the secret new dino bait. Some of my secret baits come from the Asian food market  ;).  Curious what you had luck with...

Great to see everyone out there and nice seeing some good action. The rolling dinos were awesome! Nice catches by DeepColor, Bsteves, and Inseine. It was another long drive but Oregon is all good. Looking forward to the next get together.

Sounds like you guys had a blast. I wish I was there.

Sorry to drop off the radar, but I didn't finish my term paper, a 40 page epic on "How to Fish for Salmon from a Kayak", until about 10pm last night....it was due by midnight.
(notice I said "fish" and not "catch" ;)

My blood pressure is returning to normal, I have one final on Wednesday, then I'm done for a month!!!!!!

Hopefully there will be another NWKA group fishing event in the next month or so. I will be there for sure this time.

Anyone seen any steelies around? I'm twitching and jonesin' to get back on the water!!

-Jason

Sorry you missed out on the fishing Jason.  There is a slight chance I might take Thursday off to do some more fishing while my friend Jim is still in town.  I don't know whether we'd go sturgeon fishing again or try something else.  As usual I still have to clear this with the bosses.

Had a lot of fun letting the sturgeon nibble on my bait all day long.  Thanks Spot and Zee for the help with my anchor.  Zee that Hobie is an impressive machine.

Had a great time fishing with you guys. In my case; that's why it's called fishing instead of catching. Thanks Spot for letting me daisy chain off your anchor (I gotta get a longer anchor rope). I'm feeling the need to catch a dino rather than feed them all day. My theory is next time to be ready to launch when dawn's rosy fingers are tickling the sky. I did notice that deepcolor was out 1st & caught 4 in very short order. To bad I didn't get pics of that.

Admin: Speaking of pictures, I'm wondering why the pics I tried to upload aren't showing up in my gallery? Did I miss something? I seem to be able to upload them here.

You want me to post it or e-mail it? 90% of it is basic kayak skills and safety, 10% fishing. It was for technical writing, so it's kind of like explaining step by step to a person who has no intuition, knows what a kayak is etc.

We do have a place for articles (although 40 pages is pretty darn big).

i'll try and get a link to it on my blog. i'll share the link when i figure it out.

i did use the picture on the nwka home page from the springer article.....and gave proper credit.

to be honest, you won't learn anything new. it is intended to get a first time kayaker & angler out onto flat, calm, protected waters with no limiting factors like wind, current, swell, fog, boat traffic, sharks, etc.

thankfully for me, the proffessor neither kayaks or fishes. i'm affraid you guys will rip it apart! :-[

Dude....  You didn't notice the Copyright symbol and date in the lower left of that image?  I'm afraid I'm going to have to bring this up with your prof.   :-\  Dang, and you seemed like such a nice kid....

I'll tell you what, if a nice dry top or high end paddle distracted me, I might forget all about ever having seen this....  >:D

WOW!  :o   Y'all look like you guys had waay too good a time!!
That's a great spot for a get together! Good parking and a easy launch and landing (especially after you find the ramp*) So what was the final boat count? Wanna do it again on New Year's Day? ;D

R/C rock crawling? Hmmmmm, interesting but I'd druther go fishin.

*(The first time I stumbled into George Rodgers I came down from OC and landed on the beach then drug (sic) my boat up the switchback to the parking lot and never noticed the ramp ::) )
