I should be around New Years Day.

As for the final count, I believe it was 9 kayaks and 8 sturgeon.

And by sturgeon I mean undersized shakers.

tru, but the prof doesnt... which is why i was teasing you about your choice.. actually, you say it was a technical writing paper?? all teasing aside, you picked a great subject, i wonder just how many people ever stop to realize just how technical paddling a yak correctly can be?

Here's a deal for somebody: I really really want to catch a sturgeon on the lower Willamette  (George Rogers Park is good). :icon_bounce: I want to be on the water for that at the crack of dawn. I've got a place in Coos Bay. I'd like to trade overnights with someone in the PDX area: lower Willamette fishing for fishing out of Sunset Bay. Same deal for springer Chinook. Anyone interested?

George Rodgers is a good spot.. another spot I would recommend, that is very yak friendly, is the deep water across the river (West Linn side) from Meldrum bar ramp (on the wille about 2 miles upstream of George Rodgers).  Lots of sturgeon in the area, not much current and easy drive up access (you can drive right to the waters edge on the gravel bar).

That sounds like my kind of place. This last time, I forgot to bring my wheels (thanks Scott for letting me borrow yours for launch). When I left @ about 3:30, a few diehards were still on the water, so I was on my own. I hoisted my fish n' dive on my back & carried it up the steps. Prolly shouldn't a done that. Didn't hurt then, but the next day my left shoulder was so sore, I thought I might be having a heart attack. False alarm, thank goodness.

Another good spot is Cedar Oak boat ramp. Its about half way between Meldrum and George Rodgers on the West side of the river.  Good hole right in front of the ramp and its a great spot for Shad and smallmouth.

Only dorks like us and people who choose to learn from us!

I think writing the paper will hep me allot with teaching. There were allot of times when I was writing, especially trying to describe a paddle float re entry, that I wished I could have posted a video.

It's so much easier to show people as you describe things, but now that I've written it out in technical form, it will make communicating while instructing even more effective.

Jay, thanks for letting me know about you fish.  You sure kept that little secret for a few days.

I've been trying to access the site since the server move, but my browser had a bad page address saved to auto log into so it's looked to me like the site has been down for a while...

I thought I took more photos than I did last Sunday.  I guess I was too busy sitting in the cold rain all day.  Here are a couple pictures of Deepcolor and Inseine with shakers as well as a video of Deepcolor landing one of his.
