Hey y’all,
I’m from Central Valley California. I post on NCKA, but often used NWKA to find launch sites and new fishing locations when traveling up north. Every summer I spend at least a week in Washington or Oregon doing nothing but camping and fishing. I met some great guys up by Lincoln City that we’re on this forum this last summer.
I’m a hack at fishing. I don’t target any particular species. I spend most my time in rivers and the delta, I enjoy the ocean the most, but also chase wild trout up in tiny alpine lakes.
This last summer my youngest daughter took an interest in kayak fishing and is hooked. I’ll be taking her with me next summer on my north west kayak trip. She is only 12, but I think she’ll be ready for the ocean soon.

I get mouthy in NCKA, so welcome to NWKA, where the real fishermen hang out   :banjo:  (Don't tell them I said that even as a joke).

My oldest Granddaughter started surfing a kayak (really small surf) when she was 13 and just took her maiden voyage in the ocean.  It's fun to watch them get into it, but I wish she wouldn't always catch more fish than me.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

Welcome to the NWKA forum

It's great to see younger kids and especially young women interested in kayaking fishing - glad you can be a mentor and nurture that interest for your daughter.  It's SO MUCH FUN.  There are lots of great places to kayak fish in the Oregon waters, feel free to ask on the forum, watch for meetups or send PMs for info.

That’s awesome to hear. She just told me that she wants a Viking profish GT for river fishing and surfing. I’m more than likely going to pull the trigger on that purchase for her.
