I am really liking the feelfree lure 13.5 for stability and room and the center sonar pod. Also I have seen a minnkota mod for the sonaer pod. Can always add pedal power. alittle slow but I keep going back to it. comparing it with Jackson and Ocean kayaks.

Awesome! I bought a Lure 11.5 late summer last year and cant say enough how comfortable the seat is.  Because of storage, i'm limited on getting anything bigger at the moment. Hope to see ya out there!

Since I have never caught a fish out of a kayak and do plan on going all out to gear up for the sound. when hooked up to a large halibut. is it a fine line between drag set on the reel and fighting in a kayak? Is the rod set perpendicular when you fight or more towards your bow. Should you use a longer flexible rod or a shorter stiff rod. And I would think it is a good idea to put a drift sock in  the boat also. I am still a king virgin and the info I am reading should help like the mooching rig and point Wilson darts but when and where and sometimes how is still eluding me. I've caught stripers in jersey, tarpon in puerto rico, mahi mahi in hawaii. All while working as a swordfisherman for a decade traveling to and fro and have got tons of fishing stories. Lots more questions to come and I will thank evreyone ahead of time for the knowledge that you have. Can't wait to have the sea spray in the face again. Tight lines.
