I decided it was time to buy a new PFD.  My old PFD (the one on the right, in case you can't tell) used to be the same color as the new PFD.

I haven't looked at them in awhile.  Any other strong contenders in the new models?

I'll probably go with a NRS Chinook again.  I like the Chinook OS with the VHF radio pocket.  That's my one complaint with the current Chinook that I have.

I gotta say, I like that orange and VHF radio pocket option...

I kind of like the look of the new wilderness systems Fisher PFD: https://www.wildernesssystems.com/us/products/wildy-fisher-pfd

it solves my number one complaint of using a dry suit which is head cover in rain.

I really like my NRS Chinook, but if I were buying again right now I'd go for the Chinook OS (off shore) that has the radio pocket on it. I get a "fitness equipment" reimbursement allowance through work, and I'm thinking about letting work buy me one of the Chinook OS PFDs so I can pass my nearly new Chinook to some new kayak fisherman/woman.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the radio pocket? I have an older nrs cvest that I got just for the radio pocket, but my radio barely fits. If the new chinook is has a bigger pocket,  I would upgrade in a heartbeat.

At the Next Adventure Kayak Fishing Festival the MTI rep donated a Solaris product sample to HOW. I think it's on par with the Chinook and definitely worth checking out.

I've been very happy with my Astral Ronny Fisher.  Very comfortable and the gear that I need is always at hand with the storage compartments.

Only speaking to mine but it's faded to a similar degree.  The UV damage is to a point where the fabric is starting to fray a little.   I'd hate to loose some foam when I needed it because the fabric was compromised.
