Wasn't there a rule about only winning one kayak per year?  Somewhere?  Particularly if you aren't even going to paddle the first one you won?

Nice job Spot.  Congratulations on a job well done.   I've had a lot of fun watching you and kykfshr go at it this past year.  Here's the final list.

1st Place   with 961.75 pts   Spot
2nd Place   with 910.5 pts    kykfshr
3rd Place    with 709.25 pts   coosbayyaker

4  Zeelander (634)
5  Bsteves  (618.35)
6  Pisco Sicko (590.5)
7  polepole  (456.75)
8  steelheadr (433.5)
9  Green Butt Skunked (299.75)

That's right, if you entered a fish you made the top 10 this year.

Those are the official standings.  I leave it up to polepole to figure out what the prizes are.

Ummm .. don't you have up to 2 weeks to turn in an entry?

A little birdie told me we might have a late entry coming in.  Talk about nail biting ...

I guess we weren't specific about that.  For the NCKA tournament they had to be in by 11:59 pm New Year's Eve.  This will be a rule for 2009.

Hoarding points at this point doesn't make any sense other than to make me look foolish.  I suppose someone could have caught something in the last couple days of December and then went on vacation.  I guess we'll have to wait and see (sorry Spot).

WHAT?!?!?  YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!!!

    ;)     :P
No worries Brian!  Scott (kykfishr) is staying in Seaside until next week.  He doesn't have an internet connection at his home there so he can't easily connect.
With the rules not mentioning a 12/31 23:59 deadline, it wouldn't be fair to announce a winner till he checks in.

I guess I'll change my avatar back to the scared monkey till he does.

Thanks Salm!  And thanks for the tips on Unity.  Maybe we can hook up for some fishing in 09.

good job Spot!!!
Just watch out this year, with a new titanium wrist, I'll be reelin' in some points. ;)

that's if the Dr releases me on the 29th of this month. I think she doesn't like Kayaks much ???

Thanks goes out to all that signed up and participated in this event. And a special thanks to those of Y'all that put it up here and maintain this site for us. My morning coffee ;D

Assuming the standings are final, congrats to Spot.

The fish did not cooperate the last couple of days, for me. Even Rufus put out only a few dinks, on New Years Eve.

Nice work Spot. You came out of the gate on fire and really worked hard for this. Kykfshr really brought it too. It was super entertaining. Thanks for the fireworks! And to everyone, thanks for entering and I hope it got you to fish for more new species than normal.

Looking forward to the action in this years' AOTY.... Leeeet's GET IT ON!!!

Rounding out the prizes.

Second place ... Scotty Stabilizers goes to kykfshr
Third place ... NRS splash top goes to coosbayyakker

Largest Chinook salmon ... Lamiglass kayak rod goes to steelheader.  35" nookie.

Highest points fish ... Capt Dick anchor system goes to ... ME!!!  210 point Laker.

I still need to get most of this stuff delivered so bear with me for any time lag.  Thanks.  And thanks to all for laying the groundwork for future AOTYs.  I could tell that a lot of people didn't "get it" at first.  But now I see you all coming around.  2009 is going to be good.  I can just feel it.

Can I have a personal exemption and play from CA?  I promise not to claim any prizes, but would love to see where I can place.

Allen,
Just be sure to mark all your fish as CA caught then they won't show up on the official leaderboard, but they will show up on recent catches.   I'll set you up a few to monitor your points anyway.

Brian

P.S.  Have we decided to let everyone else in the PNW (BC, AK, ID, MT) offiicially play this year?  I'm okay with it.
