Thanks Guys!

The 2008 AOTY was a lot of fun!  I came into it with a couple of Craigslist kayaks and a half dozen outings under my belt.  My goal was simply to learn as much as I could.
Sure, I've done some fishing in my day but transfering that knowlege to a kayak was something that would have taken many years if not for ALL of you.  I've learned something valuable from everyone with whom I've had the pleasure of fishing and from many of you whom I've yet to meet.  You guys ROCK!

While I'm at it, I'd like to thank Scott (kykfshr) specifically.  I couldn't ask for a better paddling/fishing partner!  He worked hard in this contest and really kept a fire under me.

Finally, Thank You Allen for making NWKA and the AOTY possible!

Now, who's up for 2009?   ;D
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Have we decided to let everyone else in the PNW (BC, AK, ID, MT) offiicially play this year?  I'm okay with it.

Do it man.. do it, do it... do it

By the way, we will be having an awards ceremony for the 2008 AOTY. We'll have a centralized location so it's convenient for all. Maybe after our Feb. monthly event. More details to follow...

Rounding out the prizes.

Largest Chinook salmon ... Lamiglass kayak rod goes to steelheader.  35" nookie.

:o WOW..... I didn't realize I was in the running for any prize, especially a nice rod!!!!!

Thanks to Allen, Brian and Bryce for getting the 2008 AOTY together. Also thanks to everyone I've met in person and online for all the help. Being new to fishing generally, it's been a steep learning curve but you have all made it more fun and interesting. I look forward to more great outings and generally diversifying my catch this year. I won't get to start until February, but I'm all over the springers this year!!!

Congrats Spot!!(I really mean it)...

Good job kykfishr and me too...not bad considering i haven't even launched my yak in over two months(It's cold out there). I'm stoked on winning the splash top.

Can't wait for this years AOTY to shape up. It should be a good one.

Thanks guys for making this first ever NWKA AOTY a great success!, especially Allen for making it all happen....
See ya on the water..

Congatulations to Mark for winning AOTY 2008.  You definately deserve it.  Your going to have to invest in a trailer to haul all those kayaks around.

Also, thanks Allen, Brain, Zee for putting AOTY together.

Looking forward to AOTY 2009. Lets fish

Scott
