9 more days until my Pilot gets delivered...   :(

I was curious as to how many of you actually name your kayaks. I'm a big geek and was trying to decide which of these I liked better:

Delores (West World)
Ellen (Alien movies)
Arya (Game of Thrones)
Ava (Ex Machina)
Leeloo (The Fifth Element)
Trinity (The Matrix)
Serenity (The ship from Firefly)
Alice (Resident Evil)
Beatrice (Kill Bill)
Rey (new Star Wars)

Right now you're probably wondering so yes; I'm currently unemployed and have way too much time on my hands.

for sure, being able to identify yourself with a boat name makes radio communication with the CG much more fun.

I have used "Fish Retriever", "Coho Bandit", and "Go Cougs" for my yaks.  (I just love hearing the CG reply to a radio check with "Go Cougs!, we have you loud and clear, how do you read us, over".  ;D

It is worth testing out your possible names if you plan to use them on the radio, "This is the "...." on 16 requesting a radio check".  (this helps avoid choosing something like "Morning Woodie").

you have some good ones there, I am guessing one of them will just feel right when you get the new boat...  cheers, roger

Papaya Pink Pounder (“Triple P” for short). Congrats on the new Pilot!

never named one, but my Prowler has eyes I put on the back. Makes me feel safer with an extra set of eyes......

Most of the kayakers in our group DOA Humboldt have named their kayaks. I went a little overboard!

I did name and label my Addy Island the "Dirty Gull".   >:D

Haven't seemed to bother with the other kayaks.  :-\

OMG that is awesome. Did you do that or did someone else? Looks really nice.

You all are a pretty creative bunch!  ;D

I went with these folks. Great interactive website for designing lettering. High quality vinyl seems to hold up fine. I took a photo of my kayak and pasted the lettering mockup on it to see if the colors worked. https://doityourselflettering.com/create/

I like it! Where could I track down the eyes and teeth for my Revo?

Google “Flying Tigers teeth stickers” there’s lots of options in different sizes.

Oh geez. Radio communication? Another unforeseen expense. Any idea where I could get a cheap used one?

Ok I’ll just belly on up and say it.... “cheap” ?! What’s your life worth? Please don’t take safety gear as a “how cheap can I get it” just my $0.02

Amazon is your friend you want a waterproof floating radio in my opinion and mine is tethered to me not the boat, if my boats getting blown away I want my radio with me not the kayak. I also have a strobe on my pfd in the event I need to be “found at sea”

LOL you're absolutely right. I'm more annoyed with myself for not anticipating that I would need something so important. It's probably a good thing my kayak isn't arriving soon. Which one do you use? I'm getting conflicting information from website vs. Amazon reviews.
