Hello everyone.  New member in Tricities area.  Fishing is a passion for my wife and I. We have a 21' Aluminum sled we try to fish in 5 days a week or so.  It's been years since I've owned a kayak, and the wife has never been in one. We are thinking of getting a couple, probably Hobie Outbacks, to use in areas like the lower Yakima.  We have a truck camper and to our boat all over the NW, and I have a 14' trailer I would like to set up to haul a couple kayaks too.

Our preference is always out of the way, quiet places.  If anyone has any suggestions for good spots, especially where they have a no combustion motor rule, they would be genuinely appreciated.  We usually get our Oregon and Idaho non-resident licenses as well, so anywhere in those states would be great too.

Not a non-motor fisherie but if you want to fish the Tillamook bay hit me up, I also love welding if you want to get a custom rack built dirt cheap!

Welcome shooter. Check out TriCity Kayak Anglers on Facebook if you haven't already. There's info and open invites posted occasionally.

Welcome to NWKA!  I grew up in north Richland, 5 miles from Hanford, still glow in the dark just a bit... ;D

I saw your post at the Hobie forum, I think you would love the new Outback, I normally run mine here on the Oregon Coast with 260# of mammals (I'm 6' and 185#, Pepper 75#), plus probably 40# of fishing/crabbing gear and the boat doesn't even feel loaded with 300# on it...I've been posting lots of videos since I got mine back in October, just search "roger emigh" on YouTube.  here's a link to the latest:

Thanks everyone!  Cool video rogerdodger!

Going to go to the local dealer, Greenies, today. They have two Outback's in that are pre-sold but not getting picked up until this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up on the Tricity Kayak Anglers jed, I wasn't aware of them but will check out the Facebook page.

My wife and I spend some time down south each winter, primarily fishing for bull redfish.  Would really like to take a couple of kayak's down to Texas or Florida for fishing the grass flats for reds and specks.
