Excitement in the Hole at DB

 i just read others posts(insayn) yeah same thing happened to a buddy and i awhile back too.  i urge all that if u have any kind of encounters with the samson in particular that u go to the coastie office that is next to dockside charters and file a report.this asshole needs to be stopped with the antics before someone gets killed.

Also, when I am on the water if Samson is in our area I have my camera pointed at him the whole time, in the event he makes an effort to get too close and try and swamp me or others.  Lars is a dick, does not like kayakers and is a town bully as well.  Lars and his brother have been bullies since high school. This comes from several local folks I've chatted with down at the DB parking lot over the years that went to school with them.

Everybody has their bad days. There are some really nice people in that family, and there are aren't a lot of people that grew up there and stuck around.

Just look at it for what it is. If everybody that was able to do what we do did so they would be broke.

Respect and safety are both two way streets.

That’s true but would that justify him ramming YOU into the rocks in the hole to save 5 minutes? The money they charge, there not hurting one bit. If they were they wouldn’t be in the business. Regardless of where someone was raised or lives the have no right to put someone else’s life in jeopardy. Would you justify a cab driver hitting someone head on because he’s trying to make money, because most of “us” do what he makes a living at.

Bad days?  The man hates kayakers and makes no effort to hide that fact. 

You know good and well it has nothing to do with how many folks decide to take up kayak fishing rather than support a charter.  Unless you are saying that I am a dick for not paying for a charter, so I deserve the disrespect?   Lars is not a nice person and he has proven this over and over with more than just me and in more than one way.  I have no doubt there are nice folks in his family, and you may be close friends with them, that's awesome.  He's just not a person I can respect from the experiences I get from him. Now get him to come over and apologize like a man and show how he can respect kayakers, my opinion may change.

Just like the gill netting industry, just because they sell fish to make a living, does not make it right to decimate a species to stay in business.
