For those of us who are always looking for bargains in our fly gear,  I think one of our overlooked resources is fishfield.com Lets face it, a lot of fly fishing fear is wayyyy over priced for most folks.

Fly lines,  rods, lots of stuff fly fishing related are in the clearance section. But, what the hell is a tornado hook?

Fish Pond is one of my favorite gear brands, and they have a reputation for good well thought out gear. But you pay a price just like with any other premium retailer. And, some of their gear is just plain hard to find. Looking at the website this morning ( was actually committing fly fishing sacrilege by looking for a certain jig head I saw on Day One Outdoors) it looks like Fish Field currently is clearing out their entire line of Fish Pond products.  A lot of it is at least $10-20.00 below retail, some more so. One item I really recommend is the wading belt/ back support. I got one as a gift years ago and its been a godsend one every fishing trip I've been on. Far better than those simple straps that you get with some waters and far more utility,  too.

So, no, I'm not a FishField employee,  I don't live in Oregon, and I got zero input on the store." Never been there, they tell me its nice". But I kno bargains when I see them and want to pass the tip on to others.

I've always enjoyed Madison River Fishing company and have also found some great deals on Sierra Trading Post, if you are looking for some new places that have great deals.
