Wed
Se wind 5 to 15 kt. Wind waves 2 ft or less...becoming 3 ft in the afternoon. W swell 4 ft.

Looks like I will be going out on Wednesday. The question is what time. looks like low tide is around 8:30 am and high tide is around 2:00pm. Does any one have any thoughts on which tide makes for better fishing  ???? I prefer fishing in the morning, but if high tide draws more bites maybe I will wait.
Enjoy the ride!

Feel free Coastal. The more the better.

I have not been out there since late summer........white and root beer seemed to be working best the last time I was there.

Enjoy the ride!

Roy,

It does look better on Wednesday and Thursday but I have to watch the little one who is not in school those days.  I am free tomorrow and figured since some of you guys are going out tomorrow I would tag along.  Safety in numbers!  I'm loading my stuff tonight so when I get off work and can take off in the morning.  I should be at Sunset no later than 8:00, possibly earlier.

White and rootbeer color, got it!  I will pick some up.  Lets make history MEN!!!!

I'm subtly trying to weasel 2 fishing weekends in a row. not sure i'll be able to swing it. last sat. cby & i tried the cribs north across the bay from, charleston. we hit it at high tide, but big tidal tidal exchange made it difficult to fish. i swear that slack only lasted about a half hour. tried to anchor, but the out going current started to rip pretty good & scared me a little, so we bagged it & paddled back across the bay while we still could. no way we could fish sunset. looked like a giant washing machine out there. later, the tide was low, so i went clamming. thanx to royg for the heads up on the stater with the spotting scope. sure enough, he was waiting for me when i mucked my way back to my rig. i was legal so no worries.

I am coming down on Thursday, possibly with Wayne. Probably be there between 8 and 9am. Looks like it will  be calming down mid morning. Going to try Turman squidlys stuffed with sand shrimp left over from Monday's sturgeon attempt!

Tue- Sunset Bay report. A few fish and a surf backwash lesson.                                                                                                         Coosbayyakker and Coastal pride and i gave it a hardy try.. Water was still stired up. No lings , but some blacks and greenling. Salvaged one black after my surff lesson floating by..                                                                                                                  Coastal pr8ide and i went to the liught house , hopefully to get into the lee some. shot the sandbar between the isl and mainland between sets ok.. Stayed to long there and tide went down more than i figgured.. Timed a set and went for it, looking good! Right on top of the bar here comes one from the other side, didn't work out, Dumped ,sloshed around a bit got back on and made it to deep water.CP was one wave behind me and sailed through like a pro !!
