Thanks Lauren! I take this as a huge honor and responsibility.

I feel that all of you amazing kayak fishermen and women deserve to know a little about me.

I am a retired US Army 1SG. I spent 24 years serving our country. I now work for the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) out of the Salem office.

The call sign Drifter started for me in 2004 when I was in Baghdad for a year of infantry fun and games. We had unsecure Motorola radios that were our primary internal communication, so we all had code names. I used to use my drift boat a lot, so that became me.

I want to do a great job of collecting, solicitation, and distribution for the AOTY prizes. If you have any questions or suggestions of sponsors please feel free to call, text or email me.

I sometimes don't watch my yahoo very close, so if it is time crucial best to text me or email the BLM email.

Thank you!

Thanks for introducing yourself, Drifter!

Also, I should have mentioned that I was approached by a couple of different people so I really appreciate people reaching out to me. After talking with everyone it sounded like Dan was the right choice for the PIC :)

Thanks for stepping up Dan.  Those of us that have been part of AOTY really appreciate all the effort it takes to coordinate the donations

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

Awesome!! While the only prize I am likely to ever win is the Tiny fish slam I am still grateful for the efforts of those running AOTY and gladly make the contribution to HOW every year.
