Hi Everyone..... New transplant to the Charleston area. I've been out of practice for several years as I concentrated in growing my business which I recently sold. I am now retired and will be up here permanently in 1 month. I used to beach launch on the northern California coast and primarily concentrate on bottom fish and halibut.  Visited Sunset Cove yesterday and it looked awesome! Looking forward to fishing, crabbing, clamming and foraging!

Welcome!

Sunset Bay is a great place.  There should be a massive influx of us down to that spot in a couple of months too.  There is a tournament there every year call the Angler of the Day (AOTD).  Not sure if it'll be an official tourney this year but there will definitely be some camping and fishing taking place.  ;D  That would be a good time to meet a lot of folks from this site.

welcome and I think you will enjoy your new "Bay Area" location.  I think you will enjoy the area out of Sunset Bay (I love fishing Simpson reef) and the submerged reef opposite Charleston.  I've worked that area regularly since 2016, happy to share what I know if you PM me.

Conditions are more of an issue up here off Oregon but it's easy, trust the predictions but not too much.   ;D

cheers, roger

(just realized my signature picture is Sunset Bay last June 25...)

I should add that I'm purchasing a home in Charleston. I'll be 10 minutes from Sunset Bay and five minutes from the Charleston marina! This is awesome!
