Hello, excited to get to know people on this forum and learn more about fishing and kayaking.  I've got two sons who are also learning with me.  So far, we've done crabbing, bass fishing, salmon fishing and shad fishing.  Hoping to continue to try other new species as we learn about how to fish with kayaks.

I'm also very interested about learning safety, too.  The waters in the PNW are not forgiving, depending on the time of year.

Thanks for all the information already shared.  There is a wealth of knowledge found in the archives!

Long term, I would love to find a guide to ocean kayak fish with.  I've fished a lot on the ocean with a powerboat but am intrigued by the Pacific City adventures...especially trolling for salmon.  I want to try out saltwater fishing before I make the investment in the gear to do so safely.

Cheers to all!  Josh

Welcome to the Crazy Josh!

I don't think there are any kayak fishing guides left in Oregon.  That said, stay active in this forum and I'm sure you'll lots of people who'd let you tag along.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
