This is the Mclaren of kayaks. What is everyones thoughts on this beautiful piece of art? I expect there will be alot of negative response from everyone regarding the cost. But the truth is there is alot of people in this world and many of them have very deep pockets. At this price point it seems like its aimed toward the upper class. Ofcourse anything with carbon fiber is going to be super pricey. They only have a facility that can make 4 per month.

Would you buy one if you could afford it?

I enjoy seeing advances in person propelled watercraft designs.

This specific boat isn't my trip, but I'm hoping that it'll lead to more innovation and maybe the eventual design of a lighter boat that I could see myself in.

You're absolutely right! I feel this kayak is just the beginning on high end kayaks. Eventually every manufacturer may hop on board.

Looks nice. Their lack of “those unsightly holes” makes it downright dangerous in many fishing environments in the PNW.

My crab pots would scrape the heck outta the carbon. It would get pretty beat up just sitting in my garage. Imagine sliding it in/out the water at the ramp. Ouch!

(in Mark Cuban’s voice) For those reasons, I’m out.

every few years, someone comes along with "the next innovation that will lead the industry".   Then they go away and are never heard from again.  This is one.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Very difficult to know if this company is here for good or if it will flop. Especially since its run by Eric jackson and all his products are pricey and still thrive. Jackson kayak super successful, Bluesky boatworks also new but seems solid and even his cooler brand "Orion" have been over engineered, better then Yeti in every aspected and also more expensive then yeti. But yet people still buy it.

Almost like how Audi owns Lamborghini. The kickstarter is currently at around 40% funded. I hope it works out for them. I would be great for the industry like mentioned above.

I saw it on YouTube a few days ago.  I'm wondering how it would behave if hit by a wake or wave from behind.  The hull shape reminds me of a flat water race SUP.
