what are the odds of being able to camp down on South Cove? two days fishing without the trip up the hill may be a good idea when the weather warms a bit.

Roy were the Whoppers your secret weapon for the Ling?

I wont be able to make it on Tuesday. Just found out that I have to stay for a meeting after shift Tuesday morning, so I will not even get home until after noon.  >:(

Hopefully things will flatten out again by the end of the week. If not I am just going to try out one of the lakes. Looking at these pictures is killing me though. I have got to get some Wheels and get down there.

My secret weapon has been revealed.... ;) LOL, the secret weapon for a happy fisherman, chocolate and good fishing... :D

Too bad you can't make it tuesday, but it doesn't look too promising anyway for sunset:

.TUE...S WIND 10 TO 20 KT. WIND WAVES 3 TO 4 FT. W SWELL 6 TO 7 FT AT 15 SECONDS

See ya on the water..

on my way to cb today. i'll be there til monday, will try & fish someplace around there tomorrow, maybe clamming if mother ocean isn't cooperating. roy & roy: will contact you when i get there. probly have brett with me; he'll be staying at our place in cb til he finds his own. he's a good fisher w/ lots of drift boat, salmon/steelhead knowhow. new to yak fishing.

danny has some ideas that sound feasible about belaying yaks & gear down to south cove from the top. it's about a 3.5 to 4 mi. paddle from sunset to south cove. lots of good fishing along the way. i think we'd limit on fish long before arriving @ destination. pretty sure i would anyway.

So Roy, was it worth the trouble of the climb back out? If so you need to let me know next time you are going to do it and I will go with you.......I just need to get some wheels for my yak. And speaking of working for the fish, the next real good day at Sunset I would like to paddle over to Simsons Reef. Is any one else up for try'n?

Merlin.. i have this cart for sale $100 bucks, would it work on your kayak?

Thanks BT, but a friend of mine just let me borrow the one that he made, and he is going to build me one of my own here soon.

Roy you see the south cove a lot right? At what point does it become to rough for fishing in the cove? Thursday is calling for 12-13 foot swell. Is the cove protected enough to make it an option that day?
Enjoy the ride!

It's not the size, for the most part that matters there. it is the direction of the swell and wind.If it's coming from the north-northwest it should be doable on a pretty good size swell. but if it's coming from the south forget it.

I'm going Sturgeon fishing on friday so i wont be going down there this week cause i'd be too sore after to go sturgeon fishing.
