So, I got an awesome deal on a like new drysuit, in perfect size. The only problem is, it does not have a relief zipper. I assume one can be added. My questions are: who does work lie this, and how much would it cost?
Any info is most appreciated!

I'm not sure why Kokatat would modify another manufacturer's dry suit but I guess it can't hurt too much to ask.

Somewhere here in the archives are a couple of discussions about local companies who'll do dry suit modifications and repairs, and it's worth a look using that user-friendly SEARCH thingy at the top right of the page...

I had a relief zipper added to my farmer John wetsuit at Eugene Skin Divers. It cost $25 in 2008. I imagine they could add one to a dry suit too since divers also use dry suits.

I have never used their services but they come up in a google search.

I appreciate all the input!
The suit is made by O.S. Systems, got it for $100, looks unused, seals are in perfect shape.
Express Dry Suit Repair (thanks for the link alpalmer!) does install zippers, but for $249, and I'm on a tight budget. I'll call Eugene Skin Divers (thanks goldendog!) tomorrow, and let y'all know what they say.

OS Systems, which is located in Scappoose, Oregon, does repairs, and lists a price of $170 for replacing a relief zipper.

Awesome, thank you.
Still a lil over my budget, but I'll probably just have to bite the bullet.
I guess I can't complain, given the low price I got the suit for.....

The zippers are the most expensive component of the suit. Womens' suits are more expensive due to the drop seat zipper. So many ladies buy the men's suits and use a www.shewee.com

So, OS Systems does not work on new suits, Kokatat won't work on other brands, and Eugene Skin Divers says they can add a zipper to a wetsuit, but not a dry suit. They can however add a catheter with a valve.
Which is probably what I am going to end up doing.

How unwise is it to wear waders  or wet suit bottom with a dry top on the ocean?

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

They can however add a catheter with a valve.
Which is probably what I am going to end up doing.
I wear a drysuit when I snorkel and speargun for northern pike in Montana from a sit-on-top kayak.  As I got older, the need to pee arose more frequently and more urgently, resulting in some high-speed runs back to my kayak to pee, using my drysuit's relief zipper.  This was a hassle, so I installed a pee valve on the inside of one of the thighs of my snorkeling dry suit, which I utilize using an external catheter, which is basically a heavy-duty adhesive-lined condom with a hose attachment point in its tip. This allowed me to pee any time I wanted to, which was surprisingly nice, while snorkeling around searching for those elusive pike.  There were times at work or while driving when I wished I was hooked up and ready to go. There is a picture of my pee valve setup below, with a banana substituting for my weenie, in case you were wondering.

However, there are expenses and hassles associated with using a pee valve.  The initial expense is that you need to buy a pee valve, which is almost as expensive as a relief zipper.  The daily expense is that you need a new external catheter each time you go out.  One hassle is that in order to keep from painfully catching your pubic hair in the adhesive in the external catheter, you need to give your pubic hair a buzz cut, which will make you look like a porn star.  Another hassle is that you need to put the external catheter on and take it off at the launch site, which shy people may find to be awkward when other people are around. And yanking the external catheter off your weenie at the end of the day can be slightly painful.

The bottom line is that for kayak fishing, a relief zipper is a lot more convenient than a pee valve and an external catheter. SD2OR, the least expensive way to get a relief zipper installed in your dry suit is to buy a relief zipper, cut the appropriate sized hole for the zipper in your dry suit, using a hot-knife tip on a soldering gun, and glue the zipper into the dry suit, using Aqua-Seal or Marine Goop.

Since this thread is all about convenient ways to urinate while kayaking, the best five bucks I ever spent on kayak fishing gear was the funnel and length of hose which I use to pee when I'm kayaking.  Pictures are shown below. It allows me to pee comfortably while sitting securely in my kayak seat. I run the hose into a scupper hole or my Mirage Drive well. I leash the funnel to my kayak with a thin piece of cord so it doesn't fall off my kayak and get lost.
