I would consider Friday if not for that ugly W word :( I would go out of PC myself, but that's due to how close it is  ;D The spontaneous day off is tempting but I usually save my "sick days" for fall salmon  :D

The ocean itch is only getting stronger though...

Planning on going on Friday too. Any tips for a newbie? Only been out once and caught a few rockfish while trolling for salmon.

I'll likely be getting to Depoe around sunrise, and launching soon after.
Anyone else wanna go about then?
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

Sunrise looks to be 6:30. I will plan on getting there about then and heading out with who ever is there. Forecast is looking pretty sweet.

Last time I went, I used jigs for a while with no luck. Switched over to trolling after a little while. Mostly just what size weight and how deep of water. Anything helps!

This time of year, the 30-60 foot depth range is usually productive. Weight depends on the drift...some days a 1 oz jig will work, other days you need 3-5 oz jigs. I haven't been out there since November, so I'll be doing a little exploring to find the biting fish.

Bar at DB was restricted today to >16'. Looked pretty nice. If they keep the flags up again tomorrow and you plan to launch from Fogarty Creek park in the south lot. The creek cut a horseshoe to the north cutting off access. Unless you just want to paddle out the creek.

Thanks for the pic Banger, I'd heard the creek had shifted a bit. Figure I'll just wheel down from the north lot, then float my boat down the creek to reach the surf. It might even make it easier than wheeling across the sand...

Just making sure I am tracking. No dice getting out of Depot Bay tomorrow? People launching at Fogarty?  I have not launched from there, but totally game to learn it.

What time are folk getting there?
Assuming beach wheels are preferred there?
Anything to know that is different from PC where I have been out a good amount?

I would imagine that the Depoe Bay bar will be unrestricted Friday morning.
