Great respect for an 11 hour fishing trip on a kayak! I have never even come anywhere close to that number.....

Wasn't wise on my part...I'll be back at it again in the morning. Probably launch from Fred's but want to explore the channel from Gilbert too. Decisions, decisions...

Ending up launching from Gilbert to explore the channel. Fished from 0500-1130. Trolled from Gilbert up a couple bends above coon island and back. One rod had a flasher and prawn spinner and the other had a 360 and suberbait. Nothing. Saw one net and heard of another for about 50ish boats.

Fished Saturday from about 11am to 3:30pm out of Cathedral Park, trolled down to the barges and back up above the St John's Bridge. I was fishing two rods and 360s and a spinfish and a 3.5 spinner from 27-50' on the counter. Didn't see anything caught and when I took out the checker had 8 keepers. I finally figured out a setup that works for me and is comfortable for fishing extended hours. Cutting the dry suit out of the equation (wrists are too tight and need to trim) and getting rod holder extensions were both huge game changers. Still looking for my first salmon on the kayak. Maybe next weekend...

With that much RAM Mounts on the boat you're sure to limit soon enough ;)

Is anyone planning on fishing the Columbia this weekend?

I was thinking of a Drano afternoon outing this afternoon but the lightning bolts in the weather forecast are making me double think that and may go Friday morning instead...

I'll be fishing the Columbia off Sauvie Island tomorrow and again on Sunday. Launch from Willow Bar. Very early launch tomorrow (meaning i will be fighting the current for the first few hours) and a late morning launch on Sunday.

I may need training but can't find where the regs changed on the Columbia. Where should I be looking and what are the new regs

https://myodfw.com/recreation-report/fishing-report/columbia-zone   and scroll down to reg updates:

Effective Friday May 21 – Sunday May 23, and Tuesday June 1 – Tuesday June 15, the area from the Tongue Point/Rocky Point line upstream to the Bonneville Dam deadline will be open for hatchery Chinook (adults and jacks) and hatchery steelhead, except salmon and steelhead angling from a boat is prohibited in the spring salmonid boat angling closure area adjacent to the Cowlitz River mouth (see detailed definition below). The daily adult bag limit is two hatchery fish (Chinook and steelhead), but only one may be a Chinook and only one may be a steelhead.

So we have three days to target springers now!

Fishing was disappointing this morning. No action for me and I also saw no action around me. Counts over the dam have been dropping in the past few days so it is not totally unexpected.
Fishing pressure was low with hardly any boats on the water and not too many plunkers on the beach.

Not to thread jack, but any interest in going again on Saturday June 5th, seeing the re-opening?

I'm just getting back into it after about a three year hiatus (had a kid). I've been meaning to check out Fred’s Marina or thereabouts for a while now.

Nice I didn't realize it was going to open back up on June 1. I work Saturday otherwise I would tag along. My main fishing days are Mondays and Tuesdays. I haven't peddled on the big river yet. It's a little intimidating to be honest. I wouldn't even know where to start.
