Hello. I started kayaking last year and bought a Lifetime Tamarack to make sure I liked it before investing to much. I really liked it and bought a Hobie Outback 2 months ago. Before the kayaks, I was a very casually fisherman and usually just threw power bait or worms from the bank. So I am learning how to troll and take advantage of the kayak. Currently I have just been to Hagg Lake and am having fun and enjoying being out of the house. I hope to start expanding this spring/summer. I will definitely be taking a trip back home (Glide) to fish around there.

Welcome to the sickness!
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

Welcome to the NWKA.  Great place to mingle with your fellow yak fishers.  I really like the layout of the new Hobie Outback.

Thanks, I think the next upgrade will be a fish finder and a usb charger. Trying to do it w/o breaking the bank will be a challenge. Then hopefully a down rigger by this summer when they go deep.

It's hard to have patience to spread those gear purchases over time........  I built a small battery case to power my outback fish finder and incorporated a USB port for charging/powering items.  It uses my Dewalt batteries as a base rather than buying specialty batteries.  Do a NWKA search using "battery" and you will find other build ideas that are well done.  There are options that can keep the costs down.
