fish finder scanner mount

Is it matter which way the transducer facing? The mount part facing the bow and stern?

I'm sure it makes no difference with respect to the signal that will be displayed on your monitor. You can put your motor in reverse on a power boat and the fish finder works in either direction. In the "old" days most transducers were just a round hockey puck with really no orientation at all.

Even those with dual or quad band frequencies, and side scanning features probably have elongated transducers mainly to fit all the individual components in the shell and it makes it more streamlined too.

If it's a new transducer, it likely came with mounting instructions. If you don't have mounting instructions, google them. If you don't find anything, most transducers that I've seen are mounted with the mount part towards the front of the boat.

No it does not matter but I'm told if it's a side-scan transducer where you'd want what's showing on the left of the screen to be what's to the left under the boat they do need to be properly oriented.

Otherwise, there's no "front" or "rear" to regular transducers.

(I'm not even sure if it matters if you mount it sideways).
