Just in case anyone missed it, ODFW has implemented emergency restrictions on several bodies of water and zones due to the hot weather and water.

These are effective July 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021, unless lifted or extended.

It's a good thing the Pacific is entering its second year of La Niña with stable cool ocean temps along the west coast. If this had been a strong El Niño year (like the monster of 2015-16) with higher ocean temps your record-breaking heat would have been even hotter. And most likely an unbearable disaster.

There are a few forecasters now predicting we are about to enter into a 5 year cool down cycle with much colder and extended winters across North America. The 3rd coldest winter on record for the high arctic from AK to Greenland last winter may have been a premonition of things to come according to some.  And an indication that the arctic freezer as they call it is repairing itself after a 20 year warming.  Only time will tell.

You are fortunate that your states have an extensive hatchery network for rebuilding the lake stocks as well as the anadromous runs once this drought crisis dissipates.
