Speaking of getting some blood on a fish stroker.

Killed it today, two nice lings including this 28 inch beauty. four of us out there and we all went home with fish. Met a new guy, Mike with a red Hobie Sport. I sure love those new mirage drive lockdowns. Here's a pic of me with my hog and mike with his Fishies.

Hopefully Mike registers on the site...

His top fins were tore up and you can see the marks on his side. Must have got into a fight with the monster that lives down in that hole, or survived a brush with a seal.

Hell yeah!! I just handed my neighbors a couple big ole family packs of fresh fish. They were stoked!!

This fish was strong, but nothing like my pet ling that i keep catching and releasing(without ever seeing). Man, I hope i get that sucker one day.

I'm wondering if you're on a big old homeguard cabby instead of a ling.  Just talking out loud ...

Hmm, funny you should mention this. I was talking to Royg on the phone  a bit ago and he said the same thing. Good fishermen think alike...

could it be and octopus?  I caught two small ones last year off three arch rock(8inch white scampi) thought I had a fish for the first few moments of the hookup.  Damn they are tasty,  I kinda feel bad eating something that smart though..

Nice, I really hope to have my shiz together soon so I can take advantage of Cape Kiwanda this year.

I was in PC today and if I had been in yak fishing mode I would have given it a shot. Surf was more than doable and the swell looked friendly from shore, with no wind waves.  Had me jonesing to get my yak projects done so I can get back in the game.

Way to go Roy! Nice fish. I really snoozed on this one. Hopefully there will be some more fishable days in the near future.

Ok, that does it. I'm giving up on hunting salmon that haven't shown up yet. I think a road trip down south is in order in the next week or three.

I just checked my calendar and social secretary...It looks like I'm clear for a southbound road trip after work on March 7th to fish Sun/Mon. If the weather smiles, anyone care to teach me a thing or two about lings?

BTW, I already know how to chum for my dinner. ;) I'll bring Drammamine too!   ;D
