I've read/scanned all recent posts...for a report by ANYONE who has been out on the water.    Did not find ONE...!!!...????      Just newbies introducing themselves.

Don't understand

It might be because the only nice day this week was the day after they closed the Columbia. :

I fished Prineville Reservoir last weekend with James (Nobaddays). We didn't find anything worthy of reporting. He still claims there are some nice fish there. It was a lovely day to paddle all over the lake.

I went to Detroit on the 24th, looking for kokanee.
I've never been to Detroit, never caught a kokanee.
Still haven't..
Weather was nice and I saw some Bald Eagles doing mating acrobatics.

Wow, can't believe you got skunked!
The bite was hot when I was there.
I'd be happy to go with ya sometime, show ya what I know about the lake.
I've only been there 3-4 times myself, only caught kokes one of the times, but always got trout and baby nook.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

I caught one steelhead this year on March 18. That's one more than last year.

Up in the PS region, folks don't post reports. I questioned it at first but eventually got in line.

Wait!  We're supposed to entertain people?  I missed that in the forum rules...

Our weather is in transition from rainy to dry, the winds are unpredictable and the swells are fickle this time of year.  Give it a while until conditions begin to settle.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I think everyone has been burned by the carpetbaggers at this point and don't want their spots blasted all over facebook. I post reports on here but usually won't post the location unless it can handle a lot of effort or more importantly parking. There's plenty of information on here that can lead to catching fish, you just need to do the work.

Here's the other side of that card.
Go out of Depoe Bay, 200-300 yards SSE of the bell buoy there's a wall that runs pretty much east west.
Stay on the south side of a line that runs from the bell buoy to the hole, you're out of the channel.
The charters don't fish there, too close, passengers don't feel they get their moneys worth.
I also have spots marked for heading out of North Fogarty, but  I'm not firing up the finder to get numbers this morning..
Not a personal attack or criticism, I don't get the hide where you fish in the sound or the ocean mentality.

In PS region I think it comes down to resource scarcity, as WH alluded to. We only have a finite quota, and thanks to Washington's private beaches, access to PS can be difficult & parking limited.

Also if it takes positive fishing reports to get someone off the couch, I'd rather not share my fish & parking with them. The folks I see out on the Sound 3 or 4 days a week in the summer -- that's a different story altogether.

Out of the various species I target nowadays, I only really report on ocean stuff like lings and salmon. In other words, fisheries where it doesn't matter how many people are fishing around you. Sharing ocean salmon reports can be especially helpful as well, given their nomadic behavior. But I don't start thinking about salmon fishing til late June, and ocean opportunities for lings are few and far between right now.

Today's internet fishing report game is a whole 'nother beast compared to a decade ago, when there were far fewer kayak anglers. You only need to experience your favorite bay or river spot getting burned once to make you re-think what you share on a public forum. Especially when you put in the effort to dial in those fisheries yourself, without riding on someone else's coattails.
