Lived in Waikoloa near the Kona coast of the big island.  Now i'm back near Tacoma.  Miss fishin that warm water got out to test run a kayak here last weekend.  Sure is a heck of a lot different paddling with more than shorts and a rash guard its damn cold here.

Welcome to the PacNW.

I'm from a warmer climate as well, you'll get used to it. Well, kind of, anyway.

Thanks for the warm welcome!  Tryin to get set up for some saltwater action I have a OK Caper to rig up not quite as large as I'd like but at 5'7" 200 probably plenty of boat for the time being.  If anyone has any good "cheap" ideas on rigging this if you could point me in the right direction it would certainly be appreciated.  Also I build rods as a hobby if anyone is in need of repairs or wants to look into building a custom, I'm always willing to help.

Thanks that was my first fish on a kayak it was easier to land the fish than it was to talk my kid in to laying next to it.

Welcome Hatrik,

I also have a Caper. Not much room, but I have managed to work things out. I have a Scotty rod holder mounted as far forward as possible between my legs, and Cuda fishfinder just behind it. This leaves me room to get back on the yak if I huli. I put a couple of flushmounts behind the seat, but don't use them much. You can see in this photo if you look close how I mounted the rodholder and fishfinder.
