WR; Thank you. I am still percolating, which is just me.  Thanks for naming those two kayaks, haven't looked before. Want to try out Hobie's foot-drive since Miki's rheumatoid means she can't paddle any more. I hope this year will be the year of trying out and finally buying.

Capt. Redbeard; RESPECT!!! I bet I know where on the Willamette, haven't tried that yet, but now I will 😉 Once we adventure a bit, be glad to share some spots in return for same! Those are some grand catches!

That reminds me- i have caught several trolling for salmon all the way up near St Helens haha.  I thibk your best bet is sandy bottoms that are near or close to reefs.  I woul think Depoe bay past 80ft would be prime.
