Anyone else looking at Saturday for the ocean opener. Not an expert, but conditions look fishable. Thinking about hitting Fogarty

I'll fish it if the forecast holds. Past experience with June coho, I expect a grind. Set your expectations accordingly. It really gets going the first week of July.

Central Coast coho season opened this last weekend (6/17). The few reports I heard described slow fishing, but there were a few fish around.

The beach!  ;D

Park in the North Fogarty lot, use beach wheels to transport your kayak from the parking lot to the beach.

Saturdays ocean looks very friendly and soft tides, I'm launching out of Sunset Bay about 6am.

What I suggest keeping in mind is the wind that is forecast to come up in the afternoon.  The wind here on the coast has recently been 'exceeding expectations' and at times arriving earlier than expected. Hopefully it takes the day off but this could be a 'you snooze, you miss the good conditions' day.  cheers, roger

Forecast appears to be holding and looking pretty appealing except for the wind kicking up late morning. I plan on being at Fogarty at 6a ish. Trolling out to deeper water and if I don't scare anything up, see if I cant bonk a couple lingcod before the wind chases me off the water.

Anyone else have a similar plan? Strength in numbers!

It seems like both Saturday and Sunday looks good for PC using GFS and ICON, I am not familiar with the area, is PC somewhat protected from the swell and wave when launching? My concern is even the swell seems low but the interval is really short.
